Summary
The purpose of this project was to strengthen an existing proposal to develop a bank designed to meet the needs of the charitable and non-profit sector. An intern completed a comprehensive literature review of successful initiatives to develop Community Development Financial Institutes in the United States and Europe. Vartana sought to work with the Canadian government and the Canada Revenue Agency to open a bank that would cater specifically to the charitable and non-profit sector by providing services specific to their financial needs. This internship sought to demonstrate a series of similar successful projects in order to help demonstrate the positive potential of Vartana’s project.
