The goal of this project is to identify, inform, and advance the implementation of circular economy policies and practices in Canada, to help avoid material bottlenecks in Canada’s low energy carbon transition, while driving innovation to reinforce Canadian leadership and competitiveness in sustainably produced critical and strategic minerals.
The project will undertake and deliver a robust research program and will engage with stakeholders, policy makers, and decision makers from across renewable energy technology and CSM value chains. The project will inform the adoption of circular economy policies at both federal and sub-national levels, and help Canada become a leader internationally on sustainable material supply. It will also take advantage of several overlapping policy windows at the federal level.
