Farmer-led Policies for Climate-Resilient Seed Systems

Improved seed regulation can lead to improved seed diversity, climate adaptation, reduced synthetic inputs, and greater farmer autonomy

Canada’s current seed regulatory framework limits farmers’ ability to save, access, and develop seeds suited to climate-resilient and low-input farming systems. This project will develop regulatory proposals and mobilize broad farmer and stakeholder engagement to influence the modernization of seed regulations now underway.
