Implementing Policy for Universal Literacy in Canadian Schools

The ultimate success of good policy for improving literacy in schools depends on successful implementation.

This project will support the implementation of “response to intervention” (RtI) approach to teaching reading in Alberta and Ontario, evaluate those supports, and compare which implementation supports were most effective under what circumstances. The results will be communicated to schools, school boards, and ministries of education in both jurisdictions with the intent of optimizing implementation and facilitating hand-off of ongoing implementation.
