Summary
The purpose of this internship was to allow the Society for the Advancement of Excellence in Education to train an intern in grant proposal writing. SAEE found that grant proposal writing became increasingly time-consuming as fluctuations in the economic market made funding more difficult to obtain. This internship allowed a student to be trained in grant proposal writing, which involved mentorship in reviewing relevant literature, studying sound research design, developing detailed budgets, identifying appropriate funding agencies, adapting proposals for funders’ requirements, developing submission packages and cover letters, and travelling to meet with funding agencies, research committees and potential project partners.
Grant Outputs
A number of fully developed research proposals were written and submitted in a variety of formats to potential funders. –
The intern developed valuable skills training in the field of grant proposal writing.
