The Members, Directors, and management team at Max Bell Foundation extends our sincere gratitude to Brenda Eaton as she concludes her term as Chair of the Board of Directors. Brenda has served with distinction, bringing deep insight, steady leadership, and a strong commitment to the Foundation’s mission. Brenda joined the board in November 2006 and was appointed chair in May 2019.
A respected corporate director, Brenda has served on numerous private, public, not-for-profit, and Crown corporation boards, including BC Ferries, Westland Insurance, and LifeLabs. Her governance expertise and strategic perspective have been invaluable to the Foundation during her tenure as Chair.
Before transitioning to board leadership, Brenda held several senior roles in the British Columbia government. From 2001 to 2005, she served as Deputy Minister to the Premier, following executive positions as Deputy Minister of Finance and Treasury Board, Energy and Mines, and Social Services. She also served as Chief Financial Officer of a regional health authority, bringing a wealth of financial and operational experience to her public service.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Brenda has been a dedicated contributor to the not-for-profit sector. She continues to serve on the board of the Canadian Red Cross and is a trustee of the Killam Trusts.
The Foundation is deeply grateful for Brenda’s leadership and service. Her thoughtful guidance has helped shape the Foundation’s direction and impact, and we look forward to her continued involvement as a valued member of the board.
