With sadness, we join our voice to the expanding chorus of those marking the passing of Dr. Roger Gibbins.
Roger was on the faculty of Max Bell Foundation’s public policy training institute from its launch in 2009 through to 2018. He shared his remarkable wisdom freely with scores of students in that program, always with humility and gentle good humour.
Between 2015 and 2016, Roger was the Senior Fellow at Max Bell Foundation. In a series of articles and public presentations, he eloquently and powerfully made the case that charities have a moral obligation to engage in the public policy process, and showed the ways they can do it. To this day, we hear from leaders in civil society that their efforts to add to the public benefit have been importantly influenced by Roger’s counsel.
We are much the better for having known him, and we continue to be inspired by his example. We offer our deep condolences to his family.
