Summary
The goal of this project was to inform audiences about potential policy reforms to the Canadian Medicare system. The Montreal Economic Institute recognized that very little economic literature advocating for the privatization of the medicare system had been published with a Quebecois audience in mind. Their goal was to look for health system solutions to problems such as rationing, scarcity, misallocation of resources, and waiting lists, as well as to discuss key theories, ethical issues, and proposals for alternative health systems financing. The report received news media coverage in The National Post, Le Devoir, and La Presse.
