Summary
The goal of this project was to develop a strategy for disseminating current research in an accessible manner to a readership beyond academia. CUP recognized that cutting edge, community based research that could have a real social impact on a variety of stakeholders was rarely communicated to a broad audience, and at best it was solely distributed through academic journals. In cases where research was communicated more broadly, CUP suggested that it was often inaccurately reported because writers of popular media are not generally trained in research methodology. To address this concern, CUP developed a strategy to more effectively disseminate current research to a broader audience.
